Getting
down to work as your MP
Dear friends and Parkdale-High Park neighbours,
What an exciting first 20 days as a Member of Parliament! Right after the
election there were many media interviews. And then I was off to Ottawa for MP
orientation. Along with all other newly elected MPs, I was introduced to the
basics of Parliament Hill.
On February 13, I will be officially sworn in as an MP, but I'm already at work
in the riding meeting with constituents, attending riding events and solving
problems that individuals here have with the federal government.
And you can bet that I'm working with Jack Layton and the NDP caucus to plan
how our party will fight in parliament for the issues you care about. We'll be
on the job working hard to stop the Conservatives from dismantling child care
agreements with the provinces, protect public health care, seek improvements
to environmental programs, public transit and funding for the arts.
My first priority is to establish my constituency office in the riding. Further
details will follow shortly.
With this newsletter you can keep up with important issues in our community as
well as federal issues that affect Canadians everywhere. You can make your voice
heard. I'll speak up for you in Ottawa.
Keep me in touch with your concerns,

Peggy Nash, MP
Parkdale-High Park
